Preventive Care
Personalized & comfortable

Preventive dentistry helps maintain good oral health. It’s a combination of regular dental check-ups along with developing good habits like brushing and flossing. Taking care of your teeth starts early in childhood and extends throughout your life.

Exams & Check-ups

Dental exams allow us to evaluate your current methods of dental care and provide suggestions for future care to protect you from complications such as cavities and gum disease. They also allow us to detect problems early so they can be fixed quickly and easily.

Dental Hygiene Care

Dcental hygiene care or dental prophylaxis is a cleaning treatment performed to thoroughly clean the teeth and gums. Dental prophylaxis is an important dental treatment for stopping the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Dental prophylaxis is an effective procedure in keeping the oral cavity in proper health and halting the progression of gum disease.

Routine X-rays

Dental radiographs can alert your dentist to changes in your hard and soft tissues. In children, radiographs allow the dentist to see how their teeth and jawbones are developing. Like medical radiographs, dental radiographs allow your dentist to evaluate any injuries to your face and mouth.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a natural mineral that builds strong teeth and prevents cavities. It’s been an essential oral health treatment for decades. Fluoride supports healthy tooth enamel and fights the bacteria that harm teeth and gums. Fluoride is especially helpful if you’re at high risk of developing dental caries, or cavities.

Sealants

Dental sealants are thin coatings painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars) that can prevent cavities for many years. Dental sealants prevent 80% of cavities over 2 years in the back teeth, where 9 in 10 cavities occur.

Scaling & Root Planing

In the early stages of gum disease, most treatment involves a special cleaning called scaling and root planing, which removes plaque and tartar around the tooth and smooths the root surfaces. This will help your gums reattach to your teeth.

Depending on your condition, periodontal scaling and root planing may take more than one dental visit.

Periodontal Maintenance

Periodontal maintenance is for patients with periodontal disease. It may also be for those who had a periodontal procedure. This type of cleaning is deeper, targeting periodontal pockets. Gum maintenance removes tartar and plaque from the space between gums and teeth.

Occlusal Guard

To prevent further damages from clenching and grinding, and to relieve the symptoms of jaw and TMJ pain, requires a very accurate, custom made guard. This bite guard will be constructed with specific and individualized properties to treat your symptoms. The bite guard is worn either on the top or bottom teeth and is made of a hybrid acrylic material that is softer on the inside and harder on the outside. It is a two-visit process to create each patient’s bite guard.
